The Flex Belt Ab Toning Belt

Can the Flex Belt Turn you from Shrek to the Hulk?

What is the Flex Belt?

There are a lot of questions out there when it comes to fitness and let's be honest, things can just be confusing. Let's take ab toning belts, like the Flex Belt for example. Ab toning belts are essentially an electric belt that is used to stimulate muscles and make them contract. The idea behind this is that it mimics how muscles contract while you workout doing exercises like crunches.

The Flex Belt is one of these electronic ab toning belts you see touted on late night infomercials claiming to deliver shredded midsections and washboard abs.

Does the Flex Belt Work?

Electronic muscle stimulation technology used in the Flex Belt has actually been around for quite some time. Electronic muscle stimulation (EMS) has long been used in the sports industry to help ease injury recovery and soreness athletes experience from injuries or pro-longed workouts.

The Flex Belt is the only FDA registered EMS belt on the market and it has gained this trust by actually delivering results.

Don't be fooled though, like most things out there, you will not see serious results without serious commitment. That means you can't just slap on an ab belt, eat excessively and overlook exercise and expect that fat will melt away to reveal a cool sculpted set of abs.

You will need to follow the diet and fitness guidelines that come with the flex belt to see your best results.

Is the Flex Belt Safe?

I don't know of any reported issues where someone has been hurt or injured by just using an ab belt of any sort. This is a bit of speculation on my part but any back related injuries that might have been reported are more likely a result of improper weight lifting form and technique. The FDA cleared status of the Flex Belt also means that it meets applicable safety standards.

 Who is Shaun T?

While we are at it, many of you may not exactly know who Shaun T is and why he is a great guy to follow. He is mostly known for his Top Training programs released at Beach Body like Focus T25, Insanity, Insanity Max 30, and most recently Cize.

We've gathered a bit more history about him that you will find helpful, straight from the Beach Body website.

It's a short, but interesting lead to give you a good idea of who is behind the scenes of T25. Actually we should say right in front of the scenes.

Shaun T's Background and History with Beach Body:

Born Shaun Thompson, Shaun T first made a name for himself as a track-and-field star at Rowan University, where he received a BS in Sports Science with a minor in Theater and Dance.

Since then he's put both degrees to epic use— dancing backup with Mariah Carey, appearing on HBO's Six Feet Under, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CNN, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, and The Doctors—and working with Nike, Boost Athletic Shoes, RadioShack, and the LA Lakers.

In 2007, Shaun T created the phenomenally successful dance-based workout, Hip Hop Abs®. A year later, he followed that with another big hit—Rockin' Body®.

In 2009, Shaun T and Beachbody blew up the fitness world with the launch of INSANITY®, a 60-day total-body conditioning workout that's insanely hard—but gets incredible results.

Over the next few years, the INSANITY workout series continued to grow with the launch of INSANITY: THE ASYLUM®, the sports-specific training program based on drills used by pro athletes.

Then in 2013, Shaun T again revolutionized the fitness industry by creating FOCUS T25®, a jam-packed workout program that makes every minute count, so you can get an hour's worth of results in just 25 minutes.

In 2014, with INSANITY MAX:30, Shaun T lays down a new challenge—to push yourself to a new personal best every time you work out. It's the craziest 30 minutes of your day, but he gives you all the tools you need to get the best results of your life.

Shaun T has returned to his personal love of dancing. In 2015, he created CIZE®. The four-week program is so much fun that while you learn to dance, you won't even realize you are getting a great cardio workout. CIZE truly is "The end of exercize."

What is Focus T25

Focus T25 is one of the latest programs to launch from Beach Body and creator, Shaun T. There are newer programs since T25 launched, like Cize and Insanity Max 30, but those programs have a completely different approach and goal than T25.

If you have not seen the commercials or heard the hype about this revolutionary home workout, do not despair. We have you covered.

What Makes T25 Special?

We will get into the nitty-gritty in other blog posts, but what really makes this program special is the minimal amount of equipment needed to get started, no need to go to the gym, and a small time investment of just 25 minutes each day.

Where to go from here?

Just be sure to hang around long enough to read through our ever growing pool of information about T25. While we don't plan on updating every day, we will be sure to keep things fresh and relevant enough to make sure you have all the knowledge you desire about the program whether you are a T25 veteran or anticipating novice.
